At my friend Momoko’s suggestion, here’s a Wordle diagram of the top rhymed words in B-Rhymes from June and July this year. It seems to have stripped out some more common words like ‘me’ and ‘you’. Anyway click to bigify.

Thanks a lot “T Head”! I am really happy people are getting such use out of it. I’d love to see what these poems and lyrics are like. If anyone has any lyrics or poetry they’ve written with the help of B-Rhymes, I encourage you to send me some.

B-Rhymes iPhone and Android Apps Updated

In the past 2 weeks, I’ve updated both the Android and iPhone (both free and pro) B-Rhymes apps. Lots of improvements in both so check them out in the Android App Market and iTunes App Store respectively.

Rhyme Words Update

Added about 400 new words to B-Rhymes slant rhyme dictionary, mostly based on what people are putting into B-Rhymes and not finding. In addition to a lot of past tense and -ing verbs I added a names of people, places and things, including but limited to:
barack, obama, bacardi, beckham, dianetics, eminem, facebook, ferrari, lakers, lamborghini, lebron, nasdaq, rolex, twitter and wutang.

Also added some culture words like:
bboy, beatbox and parkour,

These are all things that people have tried to rhyme with B-Rhymes. What else should I add?

In other news, the B-Rhymes android app is up to 26,500 downloads! And iPhone and iPod Touch users are are really appreciating the fast offline access in the B-Rhymes Pro iPhone app.

B-Rhymes Pro iPhone App: Slant Rhymes AND Full Rhymes

The B-Rhymes Pro iPhone app has just been released on the app store.

The most frequent request I get from users of the standard B-Rhymes iPhone app is to make it not require internet access so that you can find rhymes on your iPod Touch, or when you have no service etc. So I had to do it. I managed to figure out how to fit these millions of rhymes into a reasonably sized app. On top of that I threw in full rhymes in addition to slant rhymes. This adds millions more rhymes, sometimes thousands for a single word (eg. words ending in -tion).

It was hard but I found the way, involving lots of data compression, and it has arrived in the app store a slender 42MB. OTOH, that’s 42 million bytes of rhymes.

All this for $2.99, which I hope I’ve convinced you is a deal.

The B-Rhymes Android app just hit 10,000 downloads.

The B-Rhymes iPhone app is up to ~12,200 downloads. From server logs, I can see that on any given day, there are about 500 different people using the mobile apps. Now whenever anyone says “Who would want words that almost rhyme.” I say there’s at least 20,000 people, also you need to listen to more hip-hop.
